Yarny uses a subset of Markdown to add formatting, which is a way of rapidly adding formatting while typing. To make something italic, surround it with *one* asterisk. To make something bold, use **two** asterisks. If you want bold and italic use, you guessed it, ***three*** asterisks. When you export your writing (by clicking the export icon on the lower right side of each snippet list), select the option to include formatting. You'll see your formatting applied in the exported RTF document.
